According to a report on Digital Spy, Sky News is to replace BBC News 24 on the big screens at major train stations around the UK.
The new deal with screen operator Transvision will see the broadcaster provide general, financial, sports, entertainment, weather and regional sports news content for the network beginning in February 2007.
Transvision operates 17 screens in the UK, including ten at London stations such as Waterloo, Euston and Kings Cross, as well as at Birmingham New Street, Birmingham International, Edinburgh Waverley, Manchester Piccadilly, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street and Glasgow Central. An estimated 3 million commuters view content on the screens each week.
Transvision launched in 2000, originally with the now defunct ITN News Channel as its content provider. The BBC took over in 2003.
