'Supermarket Sweep' lined up for return

Former ITV daytime quiz Supermarket Sweep is in line for a comeback, according to a report in The Sun today, reports Digital Spy.

"The student favourite, which propelled host Dale Winton to stardom, was axed five years ago after ratings tumbled. A spokesman for TalkbackThames admitted last night: "We are in talks with ITV about a number of projects, one of which is Supermarket Sweep."

ITV is keen to revamp its daytime schedule after a series of ratings mishaps such as The Sharon Osbourne Show.

A friend of Winton told The Sun: "Dale would love to do it.""

Great news, in my opinion! I was just thinking last night while watching a repeat of Supermarket Sweep on Challenge TV that they should bring the game show back! Now all TV has to do is bring back Blankety Blank, Family Fortunes, Wheel of Fortune, The Generation Game, Play You Cards Right, The Price is Right (with a decent host), Treasure Hunt, Interceptor, Finders Keepers, Blockbusters, Through The Keyhole, Catchphrase, The Crystal Maze, and Fun House!
